Improvise to Contact with Your own Harmony :) . The workshop focuses on developing awareness of the body, its functions and movement possibilities. It aims at finding individual ways to get in contact and communicate with the body. Aware of our own bodies and developing empathy for others, we will set out on a journey towards understanding and harmony through contact, improvisation, dance, joy… . We will be finding our own ways to drink in even the smallest (often unnoticeable) movement, to accept and allow for the energy lurking deep inside and freedom in a surprising and unplanned dance. . Teachers: Iwona Olszowska & Michał Ratajski . Venue: Croatia, Pasman Island . 2 hours workshop a day 21-23 . TIMETABLE OF HARMONY PROGRAMME ACTIVITIES: 5:30 - 7:00 Morning walks at the sunrise 7:30 - 8:15 Morning exercises 8:15 - 9:15 Breakfast 9:30 - 12:30 or 16:00 - 19:00 Seminars 13:00 - 14:00 Lunch 14:00 - 15:00 Gong bath 19:30 - 20:30 Supper 21:00 - 23:00 Evening programme CONTACT IMPROVISATION . Iwona Olszowska - founder and artistic director of the Experimental Dance Studio EST, teacher, choreographer, dancer and performer. . Iwona teaches contemporary dance, improvisation, contact improvisation, body awareness, composition and theatre expression. . Her experience is a result of many years` of dance education. She began dancing with the Student’s Dance Theatre Kontrast. Then, she took dance courses at the University of Alabama, George Mason /USA/ and Calgary /Canada/, and in studios in New York; and participated in contemporary and modern dance workshops all over Poland. Iwona finished a dance training course organized by the Silesian Dance Theatre. She holds a diploma of a contemporary dance teacher. . She has trained the following body related techniques: Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais Method, Skinner Release, Kinetic Awareness, Pilates, Yoga, Gyrokinesis, Five Rhythms, Dance Alive, Authentic Movement, Laban Movement Analysis, Bartenieff Fundamentals and Butoh. . Iwona has trained contact improvisation with Andrew Harwood, Peter Bingham, Ray Chung, Chris Aiken, Eckhard Muller, Joerg Hassman, Danny Lepkof, Milan Kozanek, Ka Rastler, Steve Batts, Tal Avni, Jenny Hack, the Members of Pilobolus, Bill Young, Daniel Werner and Benno Vernon. She has taken part in CI festivals in Warsaw, Freiburg /Germany/, Moscow /Russia/, and improvisation festivals in Warsaw, Washington and New York /USA.. . He has been fascinated with contact improvisation since the very first meeting with this movement/dance/art sport form. Founder of the webpage www.contactimprovisation.eu devoted to CI, and an unofficial association Greycoloured Shamans actively promoting CI. Michał has been organizing numerous CI workshops all over Poland. . According to him, it is a JAM that makes the best CI teacher, and a one-on-one dance meeting that is the best learning practice. . Michał takes part in numerous workshops and festivals: Romania, Lithuania, Israel, Ukraine. He has trained contact improvisation with: Ray Chung, Alicia Grayson, Nancy Stark Smith, Frey Faust, Jess Curtis, Martin Keogh, Mirva Makinen, Milan Kozanek, Tal Avni, Danya Elraz, Charlie Morissey. .
